Goal Setting vs. Goal Achieving

We had an incredible response to our blog earlier this week asking to post your goals for 2011 …

…over 120 comments on the blog and Facebook.

Thank you — as I said, when you’re accountable, you’re successful.

"What gets measured gets done."  Peter Drucker

Today we wanted to talk more about some specifics — more than just being accountable.

Take a look back at 2010.  Are you finishing this year where you wanted to be?

Physically?  Financially?  Mentally?

If you’re not where you want to be, why not?  Reflecting on past "mistakes" is the best way to learn and then improve.

Are you lacking the proper tools to achieve your goals?  If your goals are physical, Mohr Results Boot Camp is the answer for women in Louisville.

Are you lacking the education?  Figure out what it will take to get that — books, seminars, etc.

Interestingly, we got a ton of emails asking HOW to set goals — many people have never done this and didn’t know where or how to start.  We do this daily on a personal and business level.  The reason, like I mentioned above, is "what gets measured gets done."

If there’s not way to measure success, it’s impossible to determine your level of improvement.

One program that we really have found useful for accountability is by a friend of ours in the UK, Dax Moy.  He came up with a program called the Magic Hundred, which is all about goal achieving as it holds you accountable for ONE HUNDRED DAYS!  Imagine how successful you’ll be when you’re consistently working on something day in and day out for nearly 1/3 of the year.

Most people forget about their New Year’s Resolutions by the end of January … 88% of people, in fact.
